We are nestled in the heart of “farm country” in Union Square, Lunenburg County. 100 Acres is “the road less traveled” but the road that will lead you to unsurpassed beauty and tranquility. Surrounded by woods and fields, orchards and lakes, you can immerse yourself in quiet and solitude; or surround yourself in the rich, vibrant culture of the historic, neighbouring fishing towns and villages alive with folk, craft, and Wooden Boat festivals!

The Beds
As a guest in our home, you may chose from one of our four beautifully appointed rooms. Three of our rooms, the “Apple’, “Funky Fish” and “Loon”, feature a garden view and an unobstructed vista of fields, wildflowers, and forest. Each room is complemented with a three-piece private bath, a luxurious bed (beds), and a cozy chair to curl up in for an undisturbed “read”. The fourth, the spacious Rose Room, comes complete with a balcony overlooking Indian Lake. It features an authentic Nova Scotia sleigh bed and a four-piece private bath.

The Inn also offers a library, sitting room, a grand deck and a host of little niches throughout the property where you can steal away and lose yourself in a good book!

The Breakfast
An exquisite breakfast of perhaps blueberry pancakes (freshly picked berries, of course), maple syrup, scones, and whipped cream will await you as you embark on your day’s adventures.

Ardythe, who studied at Le Cordon Bleu Cooking Schools in both Paris and Ottawa, will provide you with an opportunity to further awaken your palate as you partake in her extraordinary afternoon cooking class.

Using freshly picked herbs and vegetables from one of the many gardens, Ardythe will instruct and support you on your journey to discovering how to simply prepare that quintessential Nova Scotia cuisine with a French flair!

To do
As the name implies, 100 Acres and An Ox, literally sits on 100 acres of unspoiled, untainted farmland. Explore our trails, stroll our forest, cast a line, paddle or kayak in our lake (we provide the equipment), photograph, sketch or just sit and soak it all in.

We are a fisherman’s paradise. We are situated on Indian Lake where its outflow becomes the La Have River which boasts some of the most beautiful waterways in the Province. Guides are available to point guests in the direction of some of the best salmon and trout fishing in Nova Scotia!

The historic seaside towns of Lunenburg and Mahone Bay, whale watching, birding, white sandy beaches, a winery tour, museums, historic gardens and live theatre are all within a short drive. You set the tone, you set the style, we set the stage!
